VOLUNTEER WITH US

Come build something real with Wevise

We’re a small, all-volunteer team working to connect underrepresented people with mentors and opportunities in tech. The work is real, the roles carry actual responsibility, and the people beside you are good at what they do.

Volunteer Positions Available

Volunteer: Chief Executive Officer

Wevise is seeking a visionary, charismatic volunteer CEO to serve as the face and voice of our movement, leading with purpose, urgency, and a clear mandate: fund our future. This high-impact, part-time role requires a minimum one-year commitment of 15-20 hours per week and is ideal for a leader ready to drive growth and increase visibility.

The CEO will act as a chief fundraiser, strategic builder, and evangelist, committed to securing six-figure annual funding while rallying community, board, and philanthropic support. You will lead a lean, all-volunteer team to execute the strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors and senior leadership, while laying the foundation for a future paid executive transition.

Volunteer: Corporate Partnerships Manager

Wevise runs lean. Grants help, individual donors help, but corporate partnerships are how we access a different tier of support — financial sponsorships, in-kind resources, tech credits, hiring connections. One good partnership can change what we’re able to do in a given year.

We need someone who knows how to find those opportunities and close them. If you’ve worked in sales, business development, or partnership management — especially in tech — you know the motion: identify the right targets, build the relationship, put together a proposal that makes the value clear on both sides, and follow through.

There’s no established playbook here. You’d be building it. That’s either exciting or exhausting depending on who you are, and it’s worth being honest with yourself about which one.

What you’d get out of it is real ownership over a function that matters, and the experience of building something from scratch inside an organization that’s trying to do good work.

Volunteer: Head of Marketing

Wevise’s marketing runs across five workstreams — content, social, email, the website, and operations — that need to move together. The people are already in place. What’s missing is the connective tissue: clear expectations, work that lands when it’s meant to, and one plan everyone can see.

You’d be the CMO’s right hand — running weekly planning, holding a single editorial calendar across every platform, and building the workflows that get things approved and published without anyone chasing. A good deal of it is coaching rather than directing. If you’ve led a creative team, you already know the work.

This suits someone steady more than someone looking to make a mark quickly. What you’d get out of it is leadership experience inside a mission-driven organization, mentorship from senior marketing and operations people, and a portfolio of the systems and campaigns you built — not just the ones you ran.

Volunteer: Program Director

As Program Director, you will report directly to the Chief Programs Officer and lead programs that shape the futures of diverse individuals in technology. You will own the process for developing innovative programs like our on-demand mentorship platform, directly impacting individuals’ lives and careers.

This is where strategy meets heart — where your leadership can ignite progressive, lasting change. While we currently have a platform-focused team, you’ll design and build the rest of the Program team.

Volunteer: Program Design Lead

As Program Design Lead, you’ll be at the heart of Wevise’s growth — working directly with our Programs and Product teams to design, refine, and scale our 16-week mentorship experience. This is a hands-on, high-impact volunteer role for someone who loves building the structures and systems that help people thrive.

You’ll own the participant journey: developing resources for mentors and mentees, building program scaffolding, and laying the groundwork to grow cohort size and reach without losing quality or connection.

This role is ideal for someone who has built programs before — whether in nonprofits, learning & development, community management, or operations — and wants to apply that expertise in service of a mission they care about.

Volunteer: Marketing Operations Specialist

We reach mentors, mentees, donors and volunteers through half a dozen channels, and we can’t reliably say which ones work. Someone hears about us, and somewhere between that moment and signing up, we lose the thread. This role builds the measurement underneath our marketing so decisions rest on evidence instead of instinct.

You’d map the path from first awareness to sign-up and find where it breaks — dashboards for the KPIs that matter, UTMs and attribution so we know where people came from, and regular reporting that names the bottlenecks rather than just describing them. You don’t need a marketing operations title. Spreadsheets, curiosity about systems, and doing what you said you’d do go a lot further here.

Reports landing on time matters more in this role than in most, because other people plan around them. What you’d get out of it is hands-on operations experience, mentorship from people who do this professionally, and a portfolio of dashboards and systems you genuinely built.

Volunteer: Graphic Designer

Honest truth: good design makes people take you seriously, and mediocre design undermines work that deserves better. We want Wevise to look like an organization that knows what it’s doing — because it does.

You’d handle assets across social, email, presentations, program materials — whatever the team needs. You’d work within our brand guidelines but bring your own judgment to new formats and contexts. And you’d manage your own queue, because nobody’s going to be assigning you tasks on a daily basis.

If you have a portfolio and you can hit deadlines, let’s talk.
